Minut
Noise handled before it becomes a complaint.
Connect your Minut account and every noise alert arrives with a reservation attached — you get a push alert on every breach, and if you turn it on, the guest making the noise gets a polite message in the conversation you already have with them.

Overview
The first you hear of a loud night is usually the morning after — a neighbor’s text, a review that mentions “the people upstairs,” a warning from the building. Minut was built for short-term rentals precisely because of that gap: it measures the sound level inside the unit while something can still be done about it.
On its own, though, a sensor only tells you it is loud somewhere. Connect Minut to ProhostAI and the alert lands with context: you get a push alert on every breach, day or night, and ProhostAI knows which reservation is in that unit. Turn on the guest auto-message and a breach during quiet hours also becomes a polite, automatic note to the guest who is actually there — in the same conversation thread they have been using since booking, and never more than once an hour. If the noise keeps up, two or more breaches within half an hour escalate as a distinct persistent-noise alert.
Setup is deliberately boring. The moment a sensor is added, it is provisioned with a sensible default — a 60 dB threshold and quiet hours from 10pm to 8am — and everything is configurable per sensor, including quiet-hour windows that cross midnight.
And the question guests actually ask has a good answer: Minut measures decibel levels, it does not record audio. You can monitor the noise without listening to anyone.
What ProhostAI can do with Minut
Once your Minut account is connected and sensors are assigned to listings, noise nights mostly resolve themselves:
Monitoring
- Sensible defaults from the first minute New sensors are provisioned automatically with a 60 dB threshold and 10pm–8am quiet hours — then everything is adjustable per sensor.
- Quiet hours that match your house rules Set the window per sensor, including ranges that cross midnight — the hours that actually generate complaints.
- Sound levels, not recordings Minut measures decibels; it never records audio. That is a privacy line you can state plainly to guests in your house rules.
Automation
- You hear about every breach A push alert fires each time a sensor crosses its threshold — inside quiet hours or out — so nothing is filtered before it reaches you.
- An optional nudge to the guest who is there Opt in, and a quiet-hours breach sends a polite automatic message to the reservation currently staying — in the existing conversation, at most once per hour. "Hi! A quick heads-up — the noise level at the apartment is above our quiet-hours limit tonight. Could you keep it down a little? Thank you!"
- Persistent noise stands out Two or more breaches within 30 minutes escalate as a separate persistent-noise alert, so a genuinely loud night doesn’t read like a one-off spike.
Setup
Connecting Minut takes a few minutes, entirely in the browser:
- In ProhostAI, open Smart Devices and choose Connect account.
- Pick Minut in the secure connection window and sign in with your Minut account credentials.
- Your sensors sync in automatically, each with its connection and battery status, and are provisioned with the default 60 dB threshold and 10pm–8am quiet hours.
- Assign each sensor to its listing and adjust thresholds or quiet hours where the defaults don’t fit.
- Turn on the guest auto-message if you want quiet-hours breaches answered with a polite note automatically.
Good to know
- Minut sensors measure sound levels in decibels — no audio is recorded, by Minut or by ProhostAI.
- The automatic guest message is opt-in and only fires during quiet hours, at most once per hour; your own alert fires on every breach regardless.
- Quiet-hour windows can cross midnight, so a 10pm–8am rule works as one setting.
- Connected devices are a paid add-on billed per device — start with one sensor on your loudest listing and expand from there.
- The connection uses a secure, dedicated device-integration layer; ProhostAI never sees or stores your Minut password.
FAQ
Does ProhostAI work with Minut noise sensors?
Yes. Connect your Minut account, assign sensors to listings, and you get a push alert on every breach — with an optional automatic, polite message to the guest currently staying when it happens during quiet hours.
Does Minut record my guests’ conversations?
No. Minut measures sound levels in decibels — it does not record audio, and ProhostAI only receives the alert that a threshold was crossed. You can say that plainly in your house rules.
What happens when a Minut noise alert goes off?
You and your team get a push alert every time a threshold is crossed. If you’ve opted in and it happens during quiet hours, the guest also gets a polite automatic message in your existing conversation — at most once per hour. Repeated breaches within 30 minutes escalate as a persistent-noise alert.
Can I set different quiet hours for different listings?
Yes. Every sensor starts from the default — 60 dB, quiet hours 10pm–8am — and thresholds and windows are then configured per sensor, including quiet hours that run past midnight.
Do I need an API key to connect Minut?
No. You connect by signing in with your Minut account in a secure connection window — no API key, no developer setup, and ProhostAI never sees your password.
